Born in 1977, Key Peninsula Sports Complex was created by volunteers out of a need for public recreation facilities.
This complex at Volunteer Park in the Key Peninsula, is run by the KP Park District, which over the years has worked to improve the property to include activities from baseball to tennis, horseshoes, soccer, softball, skateboarding and more.
It has been known as "the park" by many locals. The facility includes three ball fields including one full size lit baseball diamond, soccer, tennis court, 6 lit horseshoe pits, walking trail, covered picnic shelter, restrooms, limited camping sites, concession stand, playground equipment, meeting room, office space, and maintenance shop.
