Organizational Structure
An 11-member Executive Council, consisting of business and civic leaders, oversees the business operation of the Sports Commission.
The Sports Commission is a currently staffed by the Executive Director and a Sports Development Director.
The Executive Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Sports Commission. In cooperation with local clubs, facilities, city/county government and community volunteers, the sports commission works to increase the awareness of Tacoma-Pierce County's regionally unsurpassed sports facilities, accommodations and affordability.
Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for the distribution of grants from the Amateur Athletic Fund.
The Sports Development Director coordinates all aspects of the TPCSC's Sports Development Program. This includes the research and development of events either through the bidding process or the creation of new events. The Sports Development Director is responsible for assisting in the management, promotion, and markteting of existing events in Tacoma-Pierce County as well as maintainence of the Sports Commissions's website.
